For the 20th limited seasonal release, Field Notes have created the Drink Local Edition, which come in their own 6-pack beer carrier. I don't know how often I'd actually get the pens out and start taking notes when I'm out down the local but I like sentiment behind it. These would be especially handy for those moments you discover a tasty beverage and forget the name 10 minutes later. Scribble down the name and details in your note pad and you're all set for next time. They're on my Christmas list.

The limited editions are available in two 3-packs, Ales and Lagers, come with Field Notes coasters and are all printed on a vintage letterpress in Chicago.

See more of the Field Notes Limited Edition here.

This Week's Kit | Commuter Essential

Disney Micky Mouse Watch | Micro Sleeve Wallet c/ Bellroy | Field Notes Cherrywood Notepad | Cable Tidy c/o Holdall + co | Umbrella Magazine Issue 14

Ever since I started using Bellroy products I've found myself cutting back on the excess I carry around. My regular (but what now feels huge) wallet still has its use, but mainly for the days when I'm out shopping or traveling. I actually wasn't sure if I'd have much use for the Micro Sleeve card holder when it first arrived, but now it never leaves my pocket.

The Bellroy Micro Sleeve has enough space for your essentials; six cards and a couple of notes. It's made from full-grain vegetable tanned leather and comes in five colour variations. Now, if only they could simplify my jangling key situation...

Having a wonder around Soho in London wasn't really something I had planned until I saw Karlmond's Carnaby Street Shopping Guide. Inevitable I knew I'd walk down the iconic street at some point but I imagined it would only to be cutting through to Brewer Street (will posted about that soon). I'd seen online that Red Wing had recently opened their first UK store and ever since had been on my mental do-to list to visit the store, have a nose and of course try on a couple of pairs.

After stopping off at Ben Sherman, Filson, Happy Socks and Levi's Vintage Clothing I headed down to Red Wing Shoe Store on Newburgh St, located on the corner of Ganton St. The superbly dressed shopkeeper let me snap away and also offered me some advice for when I was ready to purchase me first pair. Note the small workshop display located at the back of the store, filled with archive photos, tools and old boots. A really nice touch, which shares the company's rich history. As well as footwear they stocked caps, shoe care, Field Notes Drink Local notebooks and their brand new range of leather belt.

You can find the store just off Carnaby Street at - Red Wing Shoe Store, 17 Newburgh Street, W1F 7RW.

Nice Things @ Togs & Clogs #2

Osma shaving soap - I bet this smells like the old times
Grenson Sid brogues - Best brogues I've come across in a while
London Undercover umbrella - Stay dry and be seen. Handmade in London
Fats Domino singles collection - Just cool
Field Notes pencils - For all you stationery bods
Togs & Clogs x A Few Fine Things iPad sleeve - Cracking piece this

It's Togs & Clogs back again with some cracking products. If you have been reading my blog for a while you may remember me featuring the Manchester based online store, in a post last October. The  store has been open a good few month now and they have some fresh stock in so I thought I'd pick out a few bits for you. As I mentioned last time it's not just the products that appeal to me, it's the way they are shot. Clear and simple is all we really need isn't it? The iPad sleeve is pretty interesting, they've collaborated with A Few Fine Things for this one, using a really nice green tweed and with brown leather edges. They have four different styles of iPad sleeves and they're made in Manchester, England none the less.

Togs & Clogs are also currently running a competition through their Facebook page to win £500 worth of Humor clothing. All you have to do is "like" them and click comps on the left hand side. You've got till this Sunday to enter.

Giveaway | Win B&S January Package

It’s easy to lose track of how much you’re spending when out shopping for things you love. Whether it’s a jacket you’ve had bookmarked since before Christmas or an impulse purchase on the way to the till, your tightly controlled budget can quickly be forgotten – and this happens just as much online as it does in shops.

With months of darker, colder evenings ahead, it can becomes all too easy for your energy bills to rise far beyond the expected – especially as there’s no price tag to keep you in check.  So, I wanted to show you how difficult it can be to keep a track of your spending without any idea of how much things cost.

With a little help from E.ON we've chosen a selection of items from across several of our favourite brands, for our latest giveaway. But what we want you to do is tell us just how much you think the total price comes to?

How Much Is All This Worth? The Monocle Guide to Cosy Homes, Honest Skincare candle, Field Notes note pad x3, Form & Thread socks x3, Aesop handcream, Timex Weekender watch, Coco Chocolatier bar x3.

The closest to the correct total will win all of the goodies while, for everyone else, it may be a good time to start thinking about ways to keep an eye on your spending. Thankfully, for those of you wanting to get a grip on how much you spend on energy, help is at hand. E.ONs smart pay as you go meter allows you to keep tight control on how much you spend on energy, by showing exactly how much you’re using in real time.

All of which means you’ll have some extra cash to spend on the things you really love. This one is open to UK only. Good luck!

Aaron Draplin for Nixon Watches

I've been a little slow on this doozy, but anything featuring Aaron Draplin isn't likely to get old quick. In fact, I reckon I could watch this video once a day for the next month and still get inspired by something this man has said. His recent hook-up, The Left Coast collection, with Cali-based watch brand Nixon, has left me wanting to see more from the brand, but also a larger dose from the Field Notes creator himself.

Click play to get your daily Draplin. First seen on Gear Patrol.

Hypergrand Watches @ Street Casuals + Weekend Links

These Nato Hypergrand watches with the patterned straps caught my eye this week. I've only came across them at one retailer in the UK up to now, so I imagine they're available in very limited number. They make for a nice alternative to the trusty Timex Weekender but get the +1 for being water resistant and heaps jazzier.

Hypergrand available at Street Casuals.

Just a quick one today as I know most people's attention span is verging on zero right now. Happy weekend y'all, have a good one!

Weekend Bucket List

Planning to travel more in 2014? Lake Louise looks stunning.

Nixon Watches Customisation Workshop in London

Nixon Watches Customisation Workshop in seven dials covent garden London
Nixon Watches Customisation Workshop in seven dials covent garden London

What makes "a collector"? Most of us would admit to hoarding something a little embarrassing when we were a younger. A strong selection of playground-dominating POGS, vintage toy cars, nostalgic stamps, or something a little more obscure like vintage matchboxes or carrier bags...

I collect many things (my criteria is if it's something I enjoy and have more than a few of); sneakers, Bearbricks, pens, stamps, vintage denim, Tintin comics, and watches. So when the opportunity came up for me to customise my very own Nixon watch a few weeks ago, I really couldn't refuse. A week later I found myself sitting in Nixon's brand new Customisation Workshop in their Seven Dials, all ready to get started.

The idea is simple; start by choosing one of three existing Nixon watch models; the Time Teller, Sentry, and 48-20. I chose the Time Teller for its slimline and minimal features. After you've decided on your style this is where the customisation really starts to begin. A quick chat with the workshop manager about how the actual process works is followed by your next big decision; the outer case, dial and wristband.

We were presented with each option; several colour combinations of dial, numerous styles of band (from American-made Horween leather, coated cotton, rubber and steel linked), and a selection of steel case fittings. It's a similar process to Nike iD, but much more rewarding as you actually get to see it being made in front of you.

There's a few smaller features you can customise, like the crown and fastenings, but for now we worked on getting the overall look of our customised Time Teller spot on.
