Aaron Draplin for Nixon Watches

I've been a little slow on this doozy, but anything featuring Aaron Draplin isn't likely to get old quick. In fact, I reckon I could watch this video once a day for the next month and still get inspired by something this man has said. His recent hook-up, The Left Coast collection, with Cali-based watch brand Nixon, has left me wanting to see more from the brand, but also a larger dose from the Field Notes creator himself.

Objects - A Place For Everything

As I'm currently trying to make myself look as employable as possible by sprucing up my CV and portfolio I thought I'd post some images from my final campaign at uni. I graduated last summer now and the job front has been slow but to stay positive I thought I'd rearrange my portfolio for any potential interviews. It's a big job so I best get cracking ay.

These images were apart of the Objects by Oi Polloi project (which was a brand extension of the menswear retailer Oi Polloi), where I create a concept homeware store, was aimed at the male market. If you've been following the blog for a while you may remember a couple of posts about the magazine I produced to go along with the campaign, which is where I used the images. My inspiration came from the likes of Jack Spade, Present & Correct, Things Organized Neatly and Carl Kleiner.

Nearly a year on I'm still really happy with the work that I produced, which is a pretty good sign. Have any of you been working on any interesting projects of late?

Need To Get Organised

I'm not a neat freak, honest gov. But I do like everything to be in its place, it's a weird mix really because I'm not really like this at home, it seems more to be when I venture out. Lining napkins up, straightening flyers up, even putting chairs at a table straight. What the heck is up with me? If you saw my room you would probably think I'm a right fibber but this is the way it is.

When it comes to my work, uni or personal I have became a major perfectionist. For anyone that uses any of the design programmes, my favourite tool by far is the tracking button! This is fine, I consider it a healthy obsession, I spend hours and hours moving around anchor points and text to get everything just right. Then the next day I discover it can still be improved more. Please say there's more of us out there?

I found these images above, by Swedish design company Kontor Kontur. They sum up how I feel perfectly. This comes in the light of me ordering my books by size, I just wish I could have done it by colour too!

Stationary...

....is taking over my life at the moment. In the last week I have thought 3 sets of pencils, a fat highlighter, elastic bands, bulldog clips, 2 notepads, 2 rulers and a big rubber. And that's just this week. I'm also on the lookout for a Moleskine diary but haven't found a colour I like so much. Are the options really only black or red?

Lots of the stuff I'm buying is to use for pack shots for my currently uni project but I'm so going to use it all. Does anyone find they hoard notepads by the way? I have a problem.
