Ella Masters' Bearded Men

I really dig these illustrations by blogger/illustrator extraordinaire Ella Masters. I've been following Ella's work for some years now in various capacities, in fact her work was some of the first I came across when I started my blog all those years ago. A little while back she released a series of Bearded Men in various forms over on her Etsy store. In total there is 15 hairy characters each lending their look to several different products, with each design coming in a limited run.

Hixsept S/S 2012

You can usually guarantee wet and windy weather on a British Bank Holiday, well today hasn't let us down. I woke up at 8:30 a.m. to the sun cracking through my curtains, by the time I went down for breakfast it was raining. I haven't even thought about getting out the shorts yet this year (to be honest I don't really ever think it gets hot enough for shorts over hear, if you risk it by the evening it's freezing and you're left looking daft with goosepimpled legs), but I need something sun related to cheer me up.

Hopefully Hixsept's S/S '12 offerings will perk the long weekend up a bit. The collection is made up of  simple wearable pieces in soft palette, it's nothing groundbreaking but works really well together for me. There's a couple of more interestin additions including a cracking weather appropriate single breasted beige mac with detachable hood, long sleeved yellow button-down, contrast waistband trousers and shorts and riding chambray riding cap.

The whole collection has a nice feel to it, something that I'm very much down with, including the George Harrison inspired model choice, no?

Mr Natty's Master Barbering at Albam

I wish I was half as manly as Barbering guru Mr Natty, but hopefully that will come with age. Ever since I discovered Backyard Bill a couple of years ago (Clare from Tweet knew I would love it, she was the one who tipped me off) it's been a great source of inspiration for me. I referred to the blog on several occasions throughout various uni projects. The imagery and mini profiles are just top notch. Featured here are some ace photos of Mr Natty from Backyard Bill that I have had saved for a few weeks, he's basically my style icon at the mo. He's got that old time charm and style to a tee. 

Mr Natty can currently be found traveling around Albam stores across the UK where you can get a hair cut, Indian head massage and your beard sorted out or a wet shave for £35. He'll even through in a pot of tea and a slice of his lady wife's homemade cake while you wait. If I had hair I'd be tracking him down, in my case I've just got a medium sized beard.
