Jocks&Nerds x Shinola | Phil Cuttance Craft Film

Following on from the Jocks&Nerds + Shinola's craft pop-up in their Soho, London store last month is this short film which showcases just what goes into making one of Phil Cuttance's handmade products. The designer + maker takes a fairly low-fi, old school approach to designing his bespoke pots and vases, by manipulating a resin mold by hand, from start to finish. No frills, just a simple, but innovative, pleasing product.

Click and enjoy. Seasons Greetings to you all.

Wearing - Peacoat c/o Wolsey | Whistles Denim Shirt | Albam Jeans | Red Wing Boots | Banana Republic Gloves | ASOS Beanie

With these unseasonably warm days we've been having this December I haven't had much chance to bust out my Navy Peacoat by British brand Wolsey, but a there have been a couple of fresh days to take advantage of. Ain't no proper Christmas without a little cold snap, wool coats and a glass of brandy - so I'm hoping the chill arrives pronto.

I used to associate Wolsey with my Grandad's selection of groovy golf jumpers and socks, from the late '80s, but when you do a little research on the brand it quickly becomes clear that they're one of the most important British outfitters of recent times. Not only are they responsible for supporting Captain Scott and his team on their heroic 1911 race to the South Pole, and British troops throughout two world wars, but they also have 260 years of experience in garment construction.

For this mega milestone Wolsey has created a British-made collection, inspired by their rich heritage. I've been wearing peacoats for donkey's years, but this one from the 260 Collection is by far the most detailed and luxurious one I've owned. The soft, but robust fabric will take a battering in the Northern weather this Winter, but I have a feeling it could go a few rounds somewhere a heck of a lot more treacherous.

Watering Cans by Paul Loebach

I must admit, I hadn't penciled in any gardening time over Christmas, but these Eastern European motorcycle-inspired Watering Cans by Paul Loebach have got my feeling green-fingered. Maybe more suitable for house pants, than outdoors, but I imagine they'll look sweet on any shelf.

Available at Poketo.

Baking at Home with 4K Photography + Weekend Links

And when I say baking I mean, I just stand back while Hollie takes charge. I'm merely a spectator and taste-tester. I was having a play around with the old 4K Photography again last weekend, turning the subject on to these chocolately ginger snap marshmallows Hollie was whipping up.

How I achieved these shots: LUMIX LX100 / 4K Mode / Auto Assist / AFF Focus (maintains focus on unexpected subject) / Natural Light / AF Mode: Area 1.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that's starting to wind down for Christmas, but we'll still be posting a few bits over the next week. I am finally getting down to catching up on blogs, and replying to comments; all the while drinking a big glass of whisky and eating all mince pies. Yes! Enjoy your weekend.

Giveaway | Withings Activité Pop Watches

For December's giveaway we've teamed up with health + well-being tech brand, Withings, who are offering two Withings Activité Pop fitness watches for Buckets & Spades readers. Withings caters for a wide range of uses; from fitness tracking watches and smart scales, to home security and innovative sleep aids

Hollie + I have both been using the Withings Activité Pop watches since the end of Summer. I've personally found the fitness tracker (which connects via an app) extremely useful for setting daily targets and achieving goals; specifically using it to hit my step goals, keep tabs on my calorie intake, and checking my daily heart rate. For me, one of the coolest features of the Activité Pop is the sleep monitor, and the silent vibrating alarm it emits at your preset time. You can read more about how the Activité Pop works here.

We have two Withings Activité Pop fitness watches (in a choice of Black or Blue, worth £119.95) to give away!  To enter use the Rafflecopter form below to sign up to the Buckets & Spades Newsletter + unlock more ways to enter. This giveaway is open worldwide.

Best of luck everybody!
