Jocks&Nerds x Shinola | Community of Craft with Phil Cuttance

As a part of the on-going partnership with British publication Jocks&Nerds, and American watchmakers, Shinola, the Community of Craft series see its final pop-up craft workshop of 2015, with homeware designer Phil Cuttance. Shinola's store in Soho, London makes space in its window for another temporary workspace - previously occupied by Apron maker, Nigel Ruwende, of Saint & Birchley, Bellerby&Co Globemakers, Blue Guy Pottery, and bicycle bell designer Jess Fügler.

The New Zealand-born designer started his career studying Industrial Design, and went on to work in the furniture industry, before setting up his own studio space in Crouch End, London. From his background in design, Cuttance became fascinated by mould-making and the use of Faceture - an inexpensive, reusable and low-fi technique, which results in these unique geometric resin vases + pots.

The Community of Craft series is a great chance to see the inner working of how a designer goes about producing a product of passion, and in this case it's Cuttance's love of striped-back handcrafted products. Visit the Soho store between November Friday 20th / Saturday 21st; 12-6pm + Sunday 22th; 12-4pm, to see the Phil Cuttance's products being made. Address: 13 Newburgh Street, W1F 7RS.
