Ontour A/W 2012

Ontour, not a brand I have ever heard of but their lookbook for this coming A/W (sheesh I know, we are still in the last one) had some pretty cool ideas going on. Their garb seems pretty cool but it wasn't that in particular that I wanted to share, it was the accompanying tied up images.

I really like the way they have used an entire outfit and well..... tied it all up. For me this is more exciting that the outfit shots but purely from a visual point of view. Obviously you don't get a feel for how stuff fits when it's all restricted but it made me curious about the brand, which made me want to know more. Their plan worked!

The brand was founded in The Neverlands, 2005. Each season they base their collection on a particular journey (hence Ontour ay). A/W's effort is entitled "On the Rocks" and from the images I'm guessing it's a nod to rambling and camping out, which is where the rope motif comes in. Their previous collection was based on protesters and activists, which again has some really cool images too.

I thought the same thing, when I saw the tied up clothes I was like 'this is very cool!' I find it so much more interesting when clothes are shown differently or with a twist like in these photographs. I must say my favourite of the bunch is the last one, awesome socks and an even awesome-er (is that even a word? It's not is it? Oh well!) hat!

I shall use the 'french look' quote ha! I don't think I have any french blood in me though! Although whenever I pop on my striped tee I do feel a bit frenchy, but doesn't everyone?! ha

Also have you seen/heard of those bags that are real but they are made to appear like drawings, very cartoony style? I did copy the link but must have copied something else afterwards and now I can't seem to find them! They are proper ace though. The advertising of it was very witty, of a hand grabbing it out of a billboard or something similar. Mind boggled me I must say! If I manage to find them I'll send you the link, but you probably may of seen them already.

  3. Nice find! Just checked out their website- love the gallery images where they lay out all the items neatly. Really like the fact that they embrace the theme of each collection.

  6. Ah I've missed so much on your blog!
This is such a neat idea (literally) to tie everything up. I like how they've made sure you can see all the individual bits too. & also that the guys in the shots look like they would just pick up the packages & get on with their lives.
They should totally wrap up everything you buy from them like this & carry them to your door like stacks of newspapers.
