Topshop A/W 09 Preview

Here's a sneak preview of the Topshop A/W 09 Collection entitled "Marianne". Topshop always seems to come up trumps when it comes to A/W collections, as I remember the "Wonderland" and "Boudoir" collections from last year being a big hit and pushing the boundaries when it comes to high street fashion. In terms of affordability there isn't many other high street shops that matches the variety, design and fit with a strong fashion forward sense of thinking. The may borrow elements from hi-end designers but after all that is the point of high street fashion. Least the UK based design team put thought into each collection and are well and being taken more seriously now their Topshop Unique range is a fully fledged member of the catwalk elite.

Im excited to see which of this stuff our Topshop receives in the deliveries later on this year, though I do wish Topman would step up their game and start pushing more innovative designs and trends. The should stop looking at "indie music" for inspiration, I'm sick of seeing check shirts, basic cardigans, boring non-skinny skinny jeans, and cartoon t-shirts. Come on guys, expand a little!

  1. I agree! The topshop stuff looks amazing..And although I love Topman..They could definitely expand more with more fashion forward and street fashion inspired peices. Check shirts are getting boring, and so are cartoon shirts..Unless its artwork from newer artists or illustrations. Who needs Cookie Monster though? No offense..

  3. Hello Mat and compliments on the blog.

Have to agree on Topman. I'm amazed they get the press they do as I find most of their stuff lazy and shoddily made.

Its all about Uni-qlo and Cos at the moment for me.
