Comme des Garcons Giveaway - "Denim" Is The New Blue

Top to bottom - Levi's 511 Slim, Nudie Thinn Finn, Levi's 511 Commuter, Topman x2, Levi's 511 Slim.

What does Blue mean to you? Comme des Garcons posed this same question to me, at first I didn't have a foggiest but then when I started to think about it the answer couldn't have been clearer. When I think of Blue I think of the hardest wearing everyday fabric of the lot, Denim. My wardrobe is a proper Blue invasion, there's rarely a day goes by without wearing blue in some shape or form but the staple has always been the sweet colour of indigo. I've got several pairs of jeans in rotation but I always fall back to trusty Levi's. The fit, design, detail and brand history does it for me, and the inky smell and blue fingers you get from the first 6 months of wear; I love that stuff.

With the launch of Comme des Garcons BLUE - A series of three scents which each evoke the vision of the colour itself, CDG are asking the readers of Buckets & Spades to share what your interpretation own of what Blue is to you.

So what Is The New BLUE? For a chance of winner a sample of Comme des Garcon's new scent just click and enter in your own answer to the question, "X" Is The New BLUE?" No answer is wrong so be expressive or simplistic as you fancy.

For a chance to win a bottle of CdG Blue head over to Instagram and upload/tag a photo of your interpretation of The New Blue using #thenewblue and @mat_buckets. Good luck to everyone, and me know if you're a winner!

Graduation Treat

In the end I decided on the Comme des Garcons wallet in this vibrant blue colour. My original choice was the tri-coloured version but when it arrived I really wasn't happy with the quality of the leather, it was almost paper thin which wouldn't be durable at all. A Twitter convo with Phil Oh from Street Peeper swung my decision. That's not what I want from a wallet, I want to be able to toss it in my bag or pocket and not have to worry about it.

The real bonus behind the purchase is that I won a £50 gift voucher for End on their Facebook so I only had to put a couple of quid towards it, winner!

It's the big day on Friday, results day. I have mixed feelings about what's going to happen but wish me luck.

Uni is Over & Hot Other

Yesterday was officially my last day at uni. 4 years and what feels like hundreds of stressful days later and it's finally over. I can't really describe the feeling, other than being left empty and that it's a slight anti-climax. This will all change in a couple of weeks when I get my results though, I am sure.

So I deserve to treat myself I think, continuing the theme of trying in get some colour into my wardrobe I've been weighing up my options in the wallet department. I seem to have quite a few wallets but my criteria for a new one is pretty strict. For anyone that actually knows me they will tell you I'm well too picky and indecisive, well it's only because I was to be 100% happy with my choices, makes sense right?

This Comme des Garcons tripled coloured leather zippy wallet ticks all the boxes. Not too big, has a zip, area for loose change(I really don't know how anyone copes without a big for coins), leather and it's an interesting colour combination. I'm off for a mosey around Manchester tomorrow with Hollie, so amongst a couple of other vintage things I'm been going on about, this wallet is at the top of the list.
