I've been looking through  a ton of lookbooks for the next couple of seasons, to see what I'd like to get my hands on. Mostly it's the the mid-range sort of stuff I tend to lean towards, because it's more attainable than the catwalk stuff and superior in craftsmanship and detail to a lot of the high street stuff. So I decided to illustrate some of my fav looks instead of just sticking photos up, makes it a bit more interesting I reckon.

I'm pretty into the end results actually, super simple and striped down to just colour and shape. I'm looking forward to seeing some of these pieces filter into the shops over the next few months, roll on A/W!

Norse Project A/W 2011

Well it's finally warming up in the North now, by no means are my winter coats going away but I'm going for less and less layers by the day. But what have a gone and done, started looking at winter lookbooks again! I came across the Norse Projects A/W 2011 collection over on Lineage of Influence (one of my fav menswear blogs) and really wanted to do a post on it because it's very much to my taste. Norse Projects is a brand that have been making a name for themselves over the past couple of years, it's way out of my bracket but these things are here to inspire after all.

Not only do I really like the looks, you can't go far wrong with orange outerwear but the photography is really nice and weirdly calming. For me the first image, of the white on white is really pretty stunning.

Nice photography can bring clothes to life, don't you think?

Nicomede Talavera A/W 10/11 Lookbook

Sometimes nice things do pop up in my inbox(it's a rare occasion when it happens). Central Stint Martin's student Nicomede Talavera's a/w 10/11 look book is just outstanding. This, his second full menswear collection was influenced by idea of a symbiotic relationship between the Gentleman and the Neanderthal.

At first glance everything seems very exciting and eye catching, second glance....yes the same....third look......basically I can't stop looking at it. Like a magpie to a shiny thing, this has what's happened to me. The jewellery is another highlight for me, as I don't tend to be overly inspired by it. His influence really do shine through here.  

I know I keep harping on about it but menswear excites me so much at the moment!

Everything to do with Patrik Ervell's A/W 10/11 collection is a dream. The colour palette, fabrics, runway shots, backstage shots, images from other photographers, the models, the hair. It all works.

Percival A/W 10/11 Lookbook

The nice chaps at Percival sent me over their A/W 10/11 lookbook a few days ago. You may remember we talking about the new Menswear brand based in London a week or so back here. I'm really excited about this new brand and I can't wait to see the collection in person.

3.1 Phillip Lim A/W 10/11

I absolutely loved this offering from 3.1 Phillip Lim. He isn't a designer that I have really took much notice of in the past for menswear, but I certainly will from now on. So many ideas going around in my head, and as with all menswear, it's all about the detail.

Brand: Percival

As NY Fashion Week is taking place and London Fashion Week will be following suit very shortly has has left me wishing that I could have attended some shows(I do have a few tickets to some of the shows but I really needed to confirm more....it's a long story). So I found something a bit more accessible for myself, the new menswear collection by London based newcomers, Percival.

I hadn't heard to Percival till last week, which is run and manufactured right here in London. The names behind this exciting label are Chris Gove and Luke Stenzhorn. The guys over at Style Salvage seemed to know a bit more about the brand than anyone else and they constructed a cracking interview with the lads behind the label, read the full post here.

Where's My Scissors - Louis Luitton Rehearsal

I may have to try this out, I feel a pretty easy DIY project coming on. All I will actually need is a cheap jumper that I don't mind hacking the arms off.

Fashion Weeks A/W 10/11 - Menswear Shows

Burberry - Liked most of it, didn't push any boundaries but it worked well together. Minus the boots.

Bottega Veneta - Future Teddy Boys, loved the hi shine shows with white socks.

Dries Van Noten - Exquisite tailoring from what we expect, highlight was the clashing raglan sleeves on shirts and outerwear.

Romain Kremer - The oddball, but that's why I liked it, Robocop meets circus clown.

Lanvin - One of my favorites by far, world traveller chic. Can't keep my eyes off the technical fabrics and billowing silhouette

Hermes - I want it all please, time to try the silk scarf vibe again.

Paul Smith - Taking on a darker approach this season, still had plenty of character, with slight Victorian undertones. Ps capes are everywhere.

Tim Hamilton - Another futuristic offering, the way that blazer is cut on the right is just excellent. Leather trousers made cool?!

Rick Owens - Super stripped down and minimal, with the classic white being replaced with muted browns and such. Works for me, especially the longer skirt type shape. Should I?

So what is your top pics? Lots of interesting small details, as always with menswear, that's why I love it. Lots of small trends emerging, what do we think we break through to the mainstream?
