Weekly Round Up #3 - Keeping Fit

Clockwise - Nike Pegasus+ 30 Shield c/o SportsShoes.com, ASOS Wooly Hat, Apple Headphones, H&M Leggings, Champion T-Shirt, Timex Weekender, A Bunch of Fruit.

The Weekly Round Up #3 - Here's some good stuff from the past week. I've recently started a new fitness programme at the gym so let's call this week's the "Keeping Fit" edition.

Nike Pegasus+ 30 Shield - So I've decided to join the gym on a direct debit basis, well I say "decided" but technically they've forced me into it with their ridiculous price increase. I don't want to end up with a Chandler Bing situation on my hands so I'm making the most out of the facilities. My aim is modest, at 3 times per week but I think it will suit me quite well. Over the last few years I've been trying harder to keep fit and I'm at a place where I'm quite with my progress, but this week I've switched it up and starting something new. My bloody legs are killing me!

With a new routine comes a new push on running. Currently I'm just "ok" at it but I don't find myself enjoying it. Hopefully these new Nike Pegasus+ 30 from SportsShoes.com will give me the nudge I need. They're my second pair from the Nike Shield Pack, but give a totally different ride to the Free Run. They're much more supportive around the upper, have a hefty amount of cushioning around the heel and feel almost springy on impact. As with the rest of the Shield Pack, the Pegasus has a reflective and water resistant outer.

H&M Leggings - I picked up these a few weeks ago in Manchester, they cost me a £5 note. I don't tend to spend much on the running gear so I snapped these up in a shot. Perfect for under shorts in the winter and light reflective on the thigh.

Fruit - Yup I'm big on fruit, love the stuff. In fact, I eat 2/3 bananas each day. "How do I get it all in" you say? I blend the heck out of it.

What have you guys been enjoying this week then and do you have any running tips?

  5. To be honest, I'm not really a gym person. I'd rather do yoga at home or go cycling. Also, this post reminded me to buy new trainers!! I'm loving your Nikes!

  6. Whenever I buy something new for the gym I go at it again with renewed vigour, maybe that's the secret! But an expensive one at that.

Same with you on running, I'm 'ok' but not really enjoying it, but I want to get better!

    Hmm maybe...

  7. try not to over do it your first time. that's one of the biggest mistake that a lot of people do when they take running as a sport. as your leg becomes comfortable, alternate your workout by doing speed workout on one day while doing long distance on a comfortable pace on the other days. this way, your body gets challenged. treadmills are great but running on the pavement makes you push harder. try to find running clubs in your area.

in my case, i've been running with Nike Running Club for the 3rd straight year. most of my running buddies competes in marathons but a large number just do it to stay active, like myself.

    good luck running :)

  11. I could talk about running all day! I love it! Although, when I went to tokyo, I kind of took about a month off - traveling and getting back to a routine always kind of throws me off...but I went for the first run awhile last night and it was SO FREAKING COLD! the upside is that it was so cold i was numb all over and didn't feel if my legs were sore :)
and btw, buying new running gear is a sure fire way to motivate me :)

  12. hmm i don't know about any good tips you just have to go and do it! i guess one thing is just increasing your mileage slowly to avoid injuries - and once a week do some hills or intervals..because it helps you out so much in the long run and your regular runs will be better!

  14. Haha the Chandler Bing situation! Incredible.
I get what you mean, when you're paying for something it's almost an obligation to go.. it can be difficult to stay motivated though. I think setting achievable goals and having an amazing playlist are the way to go.
