Inspiration - Ikea Kitchen by Carl Kleiner

One of my favourite posts I've ever done was on Carl Kleiner, back in August '11, so I was pretty pleased when I heard he's be working on a new project. The photographer, along with stylist Evelina Kleiner (they must have got married since I last blogged about them, excellent!) really do have some  brilliantly creative ideas and their latest effort really does get the excitement veins a-popping. Above is the second time Kleiner has worked with Ikea, the first was for their successful cookery book Home is Best. This time around he concentrated on Kitchenware, with pretty effective results. Now these photos tick three boxes for me, my love of homeware/designy stuff in general, cooking and of course OCD heaven, Things Organized Neatly.

Tidy house tidy mind, well here's to wishful thinking.

You can check out more of Carl Kleiner's projects on his website

These are sweet, even the colour combinations are spot on. I think a tumblr was set up just to honor all things neatly organised. I spent ages just scrolling through page after page, it's strangely statisfying. Although I have to admit that I'm more of a 'out of sight, out of mind' sort of gal!

I've been thinking of drawing some mens stuff, because I usually do check out mens outfits - especially the colour combinations to see what could work for me. I've always wanted to wear electric blue shoes but I don't think I'm brave enough, plus I could never really picture how to wear them. Although today looked at some outfits inspired by mens fashion and it's swayed me even more now.

I managed to find the 2d handbags I mentioned previously, they're awesome, really play with the mind! http://www.purseblog.com/novelty-bags/these-handbags-are-designed-to-look-like-cartoons-and-they-totally-do.html

  9. Amazing! I'm not sure if it's the symmetry or the fact the it's all made from household objects... but these are delightfully fresh and fun. Seriously cool... as if I needed another reason to LOVE ikea. The $1 hotdogs are enough to keep me coming back. xx

  10. Whew. Amazing. The colours are brilliant.. The first two and the last are really impressive to me. But in all pictures every little detail is so spot on.

I love these photographs! IKEA tries so hard, yet they will never shake off their reputation for poorly-written instruction booklets and bad people-handling skills (did you hear about that 'comedy' advert they did, leaving the audience waiting for hours with a kettle and some teabags?!).
