Presents for Outdoors Folk

Victorinox army knife
Piccalilli coloured wooly hat
Brooks Saddle in turquoise

But of course, usually it's the indoors people that want them. The bike saddle alone is enough to make me want to buy a bike, just to be able to use it. I reckon any of these would make some cracking gifts, even if you like them just because of the packaging, design or colours used.

You guys know the score by now right? I'm totally obsessed with design. If you bought me a cool pencil for Christmas I'd be happy, because it means you've put some thought into it. I'm putting much more effort into my gifts this years, so I've started early. How are you guys getting on with your Christmas shopping?

All the products above can be found at the aptly named Present.

I very much like the tea towel! We've got a great collection at home thanks to my Grandma who always bought a tea towel when she went abroad :)

  2. I know my dad would love that sling shot ! And know I love that saddle. Don't think it would look quite right on my 90's Raleigh Spritz though haha. I've been such a loser with presents this year and bought most of them from where I work, but everyone loves chocolate right? (except me... ironic)

  5. I can't get over the shoe oil tin. It is so radical and such a clever design! the beanie is a great shade of yellow and also seems like a pretty reasonable gift. My absolute favorite though is the Brooks saddle. I as a bike owner/commuter have always been fascinated by the Brooks company. Something about them just makes me want one. Especially the fact that they have a turquoise one now! it wouldn't go with my bike at all but man wouldn't it be cool to just have it anyways?

Some fantastic ideas here. I haven't had much time to get gifts but have tried a little before and after I finish uni. My favourite gifts so far that I've managed to get are these little tree decorations. Two of them were from the ceramics stall at uni, raising money for their degree show. Anything hand made makes my heart melt a little, that labour of love sort of gesture is a really lovely thing I believe.

I'm learning to drive also, hope yours are going well. I've been learning for a few months and still hesitate at times, I think it's just due to my natural awkwardness/nerves!

Oh and I've definitely been adding more layers, it's incredibly bitter.

Well my first idea was based around a drawing I worked on (http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7148/6472391465_55d6c62ac5_z.jpg)
based on my own work in sculpture. I liked the idea of it being made out of glass but apparantly it'll be too cost effective, so I'm going to stick to metal. I'm just clueless to what to make, a lot of metal sculptures can look the same in a sense.

Also these are some of the stuff I've worked on this year, (http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7023/6482130383_9e11bd9f34_z.jpg

I'm told they look very suggestive to the female form, but it wasn't my intentions haha. Did you read it that way too? I've been trying to get some feedback. I'm hoping to spray paint them after they've been fired too.

  8. Thoughtful pressies are the best. Even if they're not time-consuming, expensive, big or impressive. If you know the receiver will cherish it, that's all that matters. I think above all I'd like Caitlin Moran's book this Christmas, she's my idol! ♥ Claire @ Jazzpad

  11. Who would've thought of making a hat in piccalili colour? I like it, it would go with a lot of autumnal outfits. And that Yellowstone bandana is getting snapped up for my Yellowstone-obsessed friend! Good tips, thanks.
