Inspiration - Tommy Ton at Pitti

Not so much the one on the right but the left boots are an immense colour.

None original content alert! But why not, I've been looking at Tommy Ton's recent 'togs taken at the ultimate menswear trade show, Pitti. Granted, the majority of shots I've been oogling are of boots, this is because I've been saving for a new pair of boots for a while now(selling stuff on ebay and keeping it in my paypal account, it's a winner). I've been wanting some hiking/work boots for ages and I finally plucked up the courage to order some, these in fact. But when they arrived it turns out it's like having concrete feet, so so heavy.

So I have done a full circle on the work boots and plumped for some Dr Martens Monkey boots. I'll report back soon, if they're any good. Constant updates are always available on Twitter.

  1. You are always so on it with male footwear! I like the DMs you've got. I finally got creepers after going on about them on my blog for months! Are you coming to LFW, you can wear a different pair of shoes every day..

  2. I'm not on the twitter bandwagon yet - everyone keeps telling me off! Might come to menswear day actually, didn't go that day in Sept and it's about time I got some boys on the blog (I'm too scared to speak to them usually ha)

  4. Loving the boots you picked out. I think redwings you have to really get used to wearing. I think you know my infatuation with Docs but as you're in the UK I must point you to the grenson website http://www.grenson.co.uk/ I have been lusting after http://www.grenson.co.uk/shop/fred-175 for aaages! but they don't do shipping to the US andddd I can't afford them right now anyway.

  6. These are very inspiring indeed, I can see why you went for the Asos ones. But I never thought they'd be that heavy . . Still the Doc Martens look sooo good, can't wait to hear how they're on.

  8. haha, Mat you crack me up. I'm multi multi tasking - sending Shini & Jen shots from our shoot on Sat (this is actual work) reading Jen/StyleEast's comments (she's on twitter now), replying to your comment on mine (thank you) while reading your post. That's so thoughtful to give us a non original content alert 1st.

re: ads/promos/etc I so agree. Then you really made me laugh 'maybe no one's reading it anyway'. I forget all the time that people - strangers - might read this! I still feel like my posts or comments on the blogs are really just extensions of facebook, which is where I was before I started blogging.

Okay break over better get back to work. Typing this really fast just wanted to say hi. Oh! And Land's End emailed me while I was posting and they're just great: one flat fee, paid up front. He basically said 'that's it, you don't have to do anything else, see you 23rd April, the money's in PayPal. Thank you.' I LOVE that attitude. Simple simple simple: and honest.

Now I've got to click on Doc Marten Monkey boots: the curiosity is getting the better of me. Myhusband made me do a massive clean out and I unearthed the one thing I'd regretted giving away: a brand new never worn pair of black classic Doc M's. Totally dust covered but good as new. can't wait to break them in!

Hope all's well. e-see you soon!

  11. It's so good to see that boys too spend a lot of money on their shoes! Haha! Sometimes I feel so guilty, because my other half is just like 'meh, I'll pick something up when it rips' :P So I was feeling like we women are horrible, and poor men have to stand by and not have any fun, but good to see that's not the case! :)

  12. These photos are life-changing. The Red Wings were handsome, but I can imagine why you had to return them. I have a technique for breaking in leather shoes and it involves vaseline and a curling iron. E-mail/message me if you want me to tell you more!
