Not only is it my 30th birthday this year (actually, it's this week!) it's also the 100th anniversary of Coca-Cola's iconic glass bottle. So when this collaborative project with Moleskine popped up on my Twitter feed this morning I knew it would make for some most suitable sharing. As a part of the Coca-Cola Mash-Up project, Moleskine invited a group of creatives + designers to use their notebooks as a blank canvas to create something special for the occasion. The result is a 5-piece collection of pop culture goodness.

If you fancy getting your hands on the limited edition Coca-Cola x Moleskine collection then click here. You can see more packaging posts here.

First seen on Creative Boom.

Illustrations Series by Sean Mort + Weekend Links

If I'm ever feeling a little down, I'm going to refer back to the Post-It note that sits on my desk. It says, "check out Sean Mort's drawings". You may remember our blog on his Life Tastes Better Together print - well, ever since then I just left that Post-It where I first stuck it. A small reminder if I'm ever in a bad mood maybe?

Sean has set himself the task of creating a new illustration every day for the whole year! He's been sharing daily drawings on his Instagram account for a while; building up a top notch selection of characters, iconic products and famous landmarks, in his signature bold, colourful + playful style. What would you like to see Sean draw next?

I'm yet to make plans this weekend, but that suits me fine. Maybe a little baking, some card games and cycling? After all, it is Bank Holiday. How's about you lot?

Weekend Bucket List

Looks like the coolest place to practice yoga
These notepads are super fine looking

Currently obsessed with the new driving game, "Does Not Commute"
Love this modern looking ice cream parlour

The Alphabet Club

An A to Z of iconic faces from art, science and entertainment, according to Anil Mistry. Each print has been created using a Japanese Riscograph, which only has the ability to print a limited number colours, one at a time. The resulting effect creates an overlaid chalky appearnce. £25 too, bosh.

Alphabet print available here.

In 1975 French racing driver and auctioneer Herve Poulain came up with the genius idea of commissioning well known artists to create their own designs, using iconic BMW cars as their blank canvas. The BMW Art Cars project was born. The first model to get a paint job was the 3.0 CLS (image 1), designed by artist and best pal Alexander Calder. What started off as a means to make the cars more aesthetically appealing on the track took off and turned into a really exciting body of work. Since the inception in '75 there's been 17 Art Cars to date, with some of the biggest names in design and art being involved. Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Walhol, Ernst Fuchs, Robert Rauschenberg, David Hockney and most recently Jeff Koons all getting in on the action. Several cars were even hand-painted (David Hockey image 4), Walhol was so impressed with the outcome he said, "I love that car. It has turned out better than the artwork".

My love of cars stems from an early age, my Grandad was a manager at a local parts manufacturer and his passion for the job had a big affect on me. If I'm honest it's more about how they look, their history and cultural relevance than how they actually drive. The BMW Art Cars project is a perfect example of this. If you're following me on Instagram you'll see I post quite a few car related things from time-to-time, the Citroen D'Special being one of my favourite finds up to now. Classic Car insurance at the ready.

It will be really interesting to see BMW Art Cars project progresses over the next few years, which designers come on board and how they each interpret the brief. Up to now the bar has been set pretty darn high, with Lichtenstein's 320i Turbo being my pick of the bunch. Were you aware of this project before, which is your favourite design?

Human Made x Coca Cola

Always Coca-Cola. You can find this very small and collection (5 pieces in total) of original Coca-Cola printed t shirts at Present. They've been created by Human Made on premium cotton Beams white t-shirts, really limited numbers so when they're gone they're gone. These are definitely for advertising collectors out there but I'm sure most people can appreciate how powerful a bit of branding is.

A View From A Laptop

Two decent staplers, the closest one is from Marks and Sparks
Christmas present from Hollie, pretty sweet.
One of the most bonkers Christmas presents I received, from my mum. A Manopoly pinball pen.
Over bits and bobs on my desk. These fellas keep me calm.

Seeing that I am working on my laptop every day I don't take a major amount of notice what's in front of me. I'm a collector I'd say, I get it from my Grandad. But nothing specific(though I do have 3 staplers now, so that might be my "things"), just anything that takes my fancy. Out of view is also some lego figures, jewerly box, watches and a mega heavy metal/leather paperweight.

What weird and wonderful things do you collect and what is on your desk? That is the question.
