Who knew four pieces of airplane-shaped wood could have such an impact on someone. It's these kind of fundamental toys that really capture a kid's imagination – die-cast cars had a similar affect on me (but I just wanted to skip the "becoming-a-mechanic-to-learn-how-they-work" bit and go straight to designing cars that were only suitable for another planet...).
Nostalgia plays at role, but there's just something about these American-made Turbo Flyers by Tait that still feels super modern.
