Flexible Living Technology with Bang & Olufsen + Designer Paul Cocksedge

This is an advertorial for Bang & Olufsen. Thank you for taking the time to support the brands +
businesses that make this blog happen.

We all read different blogs, for different reasons. Some have a really specific focus, taking one subject and diving in deep. Others are a bit more general, looking at a whole different range of things in the world. Buckets & Spades falls nicely into the latter. We cover a bit of everything that takes our fancy; the brands, products, and other things that make up our lives (mine down here in London, Mat’s up in Blackpool)

Interiors and homeware feature pretty heavily and, I think, that’s how we built such a strong following on Pinterest - Mat’s eye for detail and his relentless search for quality interior imagery. Something that’s likely to feature more and more, since he’s moving into a new pad in a few weeks!

Within this search, some brands have a habit of popping up time and time again. Bang & Olufsen are one of those brands. We’ve been fans for a long while and I’ve even been lucky enough to marvel at one of their TVs, as the screen swivelled around my girlfriend’s flat at the touch of a button, giving a perfect view from any seat in the room.

Their products have come on quite a bit since then. That TV was at least 15 years old, but still held it’s own against the modern equivalents. That said, it was a killer to carry down a flight of stairs when she moved house. Now, things are a bit different. The new BeoVision Horizon is the sort of TV that’s light enough to bring out when you want to watch it and slide it away when you don’t - effortless!

It’s a great example of how the best products out there fit around your life; rather than the other way around. And, it’s the exact subject that designer Paul Cocksedge, of Cocksedge Studios, talks about in this film for B&O.

In the film, Paul discusses his work and his focus on design from every aspect - not just how something looks, but how it feels to touch, how it interacts with light, and how it amplifies sound. It’s a great showcase for the BeoVision Horizon, BeoSound 35, BeoSound 1 & BeoSound 2; products that sit softly in Paul’s flat, nestled neatly between everything else that seems so perfectly placed on each sideboard, wall, and table.

I have to say, that place looks a Pinterest dream, and also has me slightly envious of Mat’s new pad too! To find out more about Bang & Olufsen's Flexible Living visit here.

  1. Love the film and that is one sweet apartment. I'm in the market for some new audio equipment at the minute, the BeoSound 35 looks the absolute business!

  2. Their stuff always looks great. A solid investment. And yeah, one sweet apartment. The sort of place I kind of wish no-one really owns or lives in. Far too swank.
