Johnnie Walker Whisky | Joy Will Take You Further

All of us, at some stage in life, have had that desire to throw in the towel on whatever it is we’re doing and start something new. The grass always looks green on the other side, as they say - and often, it is. It happened to me a couple of years ago. I wanted to ditch the 9-5, try my hand at a few different things and work for myself. I did and, I have to say, I haven’t looked back since.

I wish I could say it’s been a totally smooth ride. There have been amazing trips, fantastic experiences, and brilliant projects, coupled with a fair few ‘beans on toast’ months, as Mat calls them; but, the highs have definitely outweighed the lows!

In one of their latest short films, Johnnie Walker have encapsulated the real reason anyone throws in the towel on the office job - the search for joy: looking for the excitement and passion that turns work into something  more fulfilling. Sometimes, we have to take that leap and faith and do something we love, rather than just something we need to do.

This post is in partnership with Johnnie Walker. Thank you for taking the time to support the projects + businesses that make this blog happen.

  1. Here's to chasing the dream!

On a side note, I read and loved Kafka on the Shore. Excellent book by Murakami Haruki but its blighted the way I see Johnnie Walker. *Whispers* He kills cats.

  3. Oh really? I must add it to my ever-growing list. Have you read The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga? That has some JW in it too...praised for it's drink, but there's also another reason it's included in the plot...

  4. At the minute, I couldn't think of anything I'd rather do more. Being master of your own time is great, although sometimes I do crave a bit of the consistency that employment brings.

  6. Noooooo this is quite different! Kafka on the Shore doesn't just have a bottle of JW in it....JW is a walking talking soul catching scary dude! Colonel Sanders is in it too. Ace read!
