We recently received a pair of Hi-Res Headphones + Walkman c/o Sony, and I knew straight away that they'd be on Hollie's noggin in a shot. I must admit, as much as I like music I'm not really that fussed about listening to it - I mostly work silence, but occasionally listen to podcasts. Hollie, on the other hand, she's big into it. I thought it was only fair for Hollie to give the Sony Hi-Res Headphones a once-over, to give proper opinion on their quality. You can also read Nik's thoughts here.
Hollie - I knew from the start that these would be the real deal. Minimal design, with accents of red is indeed aesthetically pleasing, but this means nothing if the function can't be matched. The cushioning style of these headphones means once you put them on you're totally immersed into whatever you decide to click; their sound-cancelling qualities were extreme (couldn't hear Mat at all!). I started to pick up parts of the music which I'd never heard before - a testament to the quality we'd say. Maybe not for everyday, as larger headphones tend to make us feel a little self-conscious, but ideal for a long journey or catching up with podcasts at home.
