ReplyDeleteI remember me and my brother had a bucket of these metal toys, not idea what happened to them though sadly. I loved the ones with the opening and closing doors - so cool! Good on you for donating too, I hope they end up in good hands!

ReplyDeletelove. these remind me of my brother's old collection! he kept them and gave them to his son and he now loves playing with them. i can't believe my brother still had them. my favorites are these two steiff teddy bears i got as a little child in the early eighties. it still has "made in west germany" on the tag as i got them when germany was still split.
ReplyDeleteSteiff Bears are lovely, very precious things. We to have a few things that are Made in West Germany too. My uncle was stationed over there in the early 80s and he used to bring us things back. Nice one!
ReplyDeleteHow cool! Wow, yes things like these are certainly great for memories. Love these. Makes me want to go through my brother's old toys cars and even comic books, some are still in boxes at my parents place, since we moved a lot growing up.
ReplyDeleteThese are such collectibles! The best thing about old toy cars is that they're made of metal and therefore much more sturdier than the plastic ones they make nowadays. Much more fun to crash into each other that way. Good on you for donating the lot!

ReplyDeleteWell these ones are probably 25 years-old and there's still plenty of years in them. They're well based but only superficial.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah comics! I was never huge on comics as a kid but since I got into my 20s I started to read them. Love their illustrations, especially Tintin.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any old toys but I saved a few books to pass on to my kid. My husband on the other hand saved a few cars and tiny super heroes and we're thrilled to see our boy play with them!
