Collect - Tea Tags

I think I've found another thing to collect, Tea Tags. I don't think a week went by after I started my pursuit into collecting old American stamps before I discovered these tea tag collections on Pinterest (follow me at mat_buckets). I drink tones of the stuff so I may as well be ripping the tags off and adding them to a collection; I think they've got the potential to look really smart in a frame. Similar to my old stamp collection (something I really need to share with you all, some are over 100 years old and have war prints on them!) they're all typically varied in design, shape, colour and country of origin. I'll be turning to eBay and my own cupboards in search of some corkers.

I'll be interested to hear if any of you collect tea tags or anything else connected to tea. Do you guys collect anything in particular?

Next week I'll be launching a sweet little giveaway, the prize will make a nice Christmas present so keep your eyes peeled for that one.

  1. I actually came across someone's tea tag collection on flickr before! I think it's quite an unusual thing to collect, but it does make for a good collectible!

I had a bit of a stamp collection happening when I was a kid, but it didn't really hold my interest for long enough. One of my friends had a 50c coin collection (there are different versions of it floating out there).

  5. Tea bags would be interesting to collect!

I don't really collect anything at the moment, but I still have my old stamp and foreign coins collection which I occasionally add to (a friend recently gave me a Croatian coin with a bear on it, and I stole the leftover US money from my boyfriend when he returned from NYC recently!)

  6. Oh, that is really awesome! They all look so neat! And I'm reeeeeally interested in your stamp collection! I never had any collections like those fancy little things. I would collect things like books or cameras....I'm still working on that. But the thing I've been collecting since a while is 'special edition' Ladurée boxes...they're all so prrrretty! And they're nice for earrings and stuff.

  7. What a wonderful collection! I only drink leaf tea so this particular activity would be difficult for me - but I like keeping pretty metal tea boxes. Generally I try not to collect anything (my mum likes keeping things a bit too much), but I do hang on to my clothes.

Missed a far few posts! Been in Wales, I really do miss the beach

I really like 5th across in the first collection, the tea spilling over is a nice design! I don't drink anything fancy enough to collect the tags sadly, I need to venture out more I think

Hmm I don't collect anything that springs to mind, although I do have a few odd cinema tickets and tickets from gigs etc.. nothing impressive though sadly!

Giveaway sounds good. I'm sorting one out too, hoping to start it up next week

I used to collect stickers like mad all my life but I have stopped when I was 16 x

  12. I like this idea, turning something disposable into something memorable, or least worth saving. I think it's that psychological side of collecting that has always interested me, because regardless of what it is someone collects the actual process seems to be one of emotion mixed with materialism - a feeling made tangible.

  13. I'm not a tea drinker so I've never really paid much attention to tea tags before, but wow! These are great! I never realized that tea tags can be so much more interesting than that bland Twinings one. The typography, the colors, even the shape of the tag itself contribute to the look of each one. Good branding, I'll say. And it's funny to think just how many tea brands are out there!

I never really got into collecting anything... do magazines count? haha

  20. Aw this is such a good idea. I love that they're all different sizes & the mixture of higher end & mcdonalds. Definitely a good new collection. I'm not much of a collector. My ex used to keep all his old broken skateboards in a pile. It ended up looking pretty interesting.

  24. Oh my, I love tea tags too. You & I are on the same wave-length!

( I tend to use email alerts to approve comments on blogger. I have the blogger app as an emergency if ever I need to make a mobile blog post. Luckily I haven't needed to so far as it is a bit rubbish. )

  26. Good luck with it man, I think it's awesome. I've never noticed that there is so many different kinds of labels and all. Pretty neat. I've been wanting to collect soda bottles lately. But I don;t think that's necessarily a rare thing.

The only thing i keep and file with all my love are concert tickets hahaha but well just because they're a souvenir of a precious moment in my life. So bad that they don't do it like before with cool prints and colours, now they're all generic :/

thnks for the tatoo cheers! hahah i afraid i would become addicted to them and end up all inked. i thnik thats the big reason why i'm procastinating it and not the pain!
