Clocks

Cronotime Clock by Pio Manzu for Alessi (Originally designed 1966)

Optic Alarm Clock by Joe Colombus for Alessi (Originally designed 1970)

I'm after a new clock for Christmas, just a few ideas here. On the practicality front I should really get a desk clock, if I sorted my new room out I could have a walk clock, so I guess it doesn't help to look at both options.

All these beauties are available at Utility, which is "THE best design shop around", quote by me.

  6. Mat, the world city clock is great. MoMA in NY makes one with similar concept, which I love.

  7. Omg I love the first one, it's like a cute orange worm that sounds crazy but that's what it look's like. I hate watchs and clocks ... But I think it's because people ask me the time non stop, but if I don't know the time it really annoys me !! I'm a total freak when it comes to time, I like knowing it I just don't like sharing it :p I am after a big clock for the living room, as I keep doing things later than I normal would as we have this mini clock. It drives me mental, I need fat numbers ...I'm a five year old when it comes to clocks .... Maybe that's why I like the orange worm :)

  8. Those are all really cool! I saw the third one in a magazine and it mentioned that it was cordless, so that's my vote haha.

  10. In reply to your comment yes it is true that there is no menswear unfortunately! But it is still worth checking it out anyways if you can get to London!

p.s the third clock would be sooo soo cool if it was gigantic and took up half the wall. i wish to find something like that when i own a house. that will be a very long time.

  11. Nice. I like the '66 Alessi I think, though I'm sort of also drawn to the 70s one in the last photo!

  14. I like them all but my vote for Best Clock is the Electric Station Clock by Newgate. Probably because it's the most old fashioned design, and I"m very old.

Thanks for your lovely comments Mat! Hope you're staying warm up there.
