Hot Feet

Wearing - Gap khakis, Uniqlo socks, New Balance trainers

I've been trying to brighten up lately, it might only be through socks and shoes but it's a good start. My feet really like New Balance, they do agree. They are without a doubt the comfiest brand I have come across, so comfy I do actually wear them for the gym but I tend to bust them out for real sometimes.

Now I might be a bit of the mark here as it's a little known fact about me is that I can't swim, but if I was going to learn I would need some, right? Every year or so Topman get a bunch of designers involved with their ongoing project, each time they pick an item of menswear and the designers go away and create their own take on it. Past projects include, sunglasses, white t-shirt and black trousers. This time around it's Swim shortsTopman have got a quality pack of designers onboard including Gary Card, Todd Selby (of The Selby), Cassette Playa, Johnathan Saunders, Bernhard Willhelm and their own Topman design team.

The main reason why I got quite excited about this projects is because Gary Card is involved, as well as designing a pair of shorts he has created the window display at the Oxford Street store. Gary Card does everything, his work gets everywhere and he even got to design his own Swatch watch. I've featured him before on the blog, I seriously can't get enough of his bonkers and super create ideas. If you haven't heard of him just pick of a copy of any fashion magazine and you will be sure to props or sets his has created.

On a similar note here's some swim shorts I picked in H&M today, just incase I do decide to take the plunge. Not bad for £7.99:

Final Campaign!

Well it's been a long time coming but I've finally finished my final campaign, which I've chatted about quite a lot over the past few posts. This is why I have been so quite, so thank you for your patience and staying with me.

So for my campaign I launched a homeware store aimed at men, and for this I created a whole marketing campaign which included the magazine, adverts, lots of guerrilla advertising and a whole heap of other little bits. It took 4 days to put the exhibition up and I couldn't have done it without the help of Hollie. She is a big wizz when it comes to the logistics and maths of stuff, and seeing that I'm not happy until every single thing is in place, this was very useful. Turns out now we both know how to put up shelves and lay flooring, bonus!

It's been a very hard but extremely fun week, seeing my classmates spaces come together and all. Normal blogging won't resume just yet as I still have one more deadline.

Hot Off The Press #2

As promised here's some images of the magazine I designed, it's called Articles and I created it on behalf of a menswear brand. The idea of our final project was to create a new brand or brand extension, I chose to create a homeware store aimed at the male market.

So that's all you need to know, here's a few of the pages, there's 24 in total so I couldn't put them all up or we would be here for ever. Thank you to everyone who commented on my last post, it means a lot that people are interest in what I've been working on.

The big heading is this coming Friday!

Hot Off The Press

This is one of many things in a long line that has been taking up loads of my time recently. I finally got the magazine printed that I've been working on for the last month. I will dedicate a proper post to it soon.

Sorry if I've been a bit slow on the uptake at replying to comments, I will get there eventually.
